Each year the Trust prepares an Annual Plan outlining its intentions (including distributions) for the new financial year. The draft of the document is made available to the public in March each year and submissions are considered before the final Annual Plan is issued. Each year the Trust issues an Annual Report to the public assessing its performance and stating the results of the Trustees' review of the Trust’s investment in WEL Networks Ltd and whether or not there have been any changes to the Trust Deed. 781 KBStrategic Plan
 31 KBGuidelines for Access to Information
In 2006 the Trust adopted a set of guidelines for access to information by beneficiaries of electricity community and customer trusts developed by the Energy Trusts of New Zealand Inc. They were last reconfirmed in August 2011. The Guidelines provide for trust beneficiaries to have access to trust information, to attend annual meetings of the trust, and to have access to a complaints process for dealing with refusals to supply trust information. The Guidelines set out a minimum requirement of information to be made available to beneficiaries. It should be noted that the WEL Energy Trust's Deed of Trust stipulates that all meetings are to be publicly advertised for beneficiaries to attend, and all monthly financial reports are also available to the public.
