2011/2012 Community Funding Round - The 2011 community funding round has now closed.  The WEL Energy Trust as approved $2.03 million in its 2011-2012 community round to 246 community organisations.  For further information please contact the Trust Office.

Community Lending - The WEL Energy Trust, at it's meeting on 27th September, considered the potential development of a community lending policy.  WEL Trust Chairman Mark Ingle said “Community lending is a whole new area to this Trust and it is not a policy we would implement with undue haste.”  He reiterated that trustees were elected on a mandate which included exploring further ways to invest in the community and that this was just one of those possibilities – an additional way of looking at how the Trust can assist community organisations. Trustees resolved to talk with other community trusts around New Zealand already involved in social lending.
