The WEL Energy Trust owns WEL Networks Ltd, an electricity network business, on behalf of the community.

WEL Networks in turn owns the power lines and equipment that deliver electricity to over 84,000 homes, farms and businesses in Hamilton, most of the Waikato District and a small part of the Waipa District.

The Company does not sell electricity. Its customers are technically the electricity retailers, such as Genesis and TrustPower, that sell electricity to you. The name of your electricity retailer will be on the power account you receive each month.

The Trust's shareholding in WEL Networks on behalf of the community is valued at $435.4 million.

Further information on WEL Networks Ltd, including their Annual Report, can be found on the website http://www.wel.co.nz/.
