Vital impact (Housing) Grants Round

The Trust has opened a $500,000 Vital Impact grants round to address housing issues in the Waikato region and is seeking Expressions of Interest.

WEL Energy Trust recognises housing need as a regional priority and has opened its third Vital Impact (Housing) Grants Round to build (excuse the pun!) on the collaborative progress being made in this area.

The Trust’s Vital Impact (Housing) grants will support the workstreams of the Waikato Housing Initiative, which seeks to lead and facilitate the delivery of affordable, quality and accessible homes in the Waikato.  They operate through a collective impact model and commit to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.

We are again calling for Expressions of Interest from organisations who also want to make a difference and provide fresh thinking that will contribute to shifting the dial on housing issues.

The Trust’s 2019-2022 Community Investment Strategy includes a priority for action towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities:

To promote innovative thinking and collaborative action to enhance access to affordable, quality housing, including social housing and rental accommodation.

If your organisation has alignment with this goal, we would love to hear from you.

We recommend contacting Dave Cowley at the Trust Office on 07 838 0093 or by email at david@welenergytrust.co.nz before submitting an Expression of Interest.

To submit an Expression of Interest, click here – you’ll need to be quick as the closing date is Friday 7 May (6.00pm)!  Selected organisations will then be invited to submit full applications and a decision will be made in June this year, with grants paid in July.

Organisations already receiving funding from the Trust may apply with no impact on existing grants.
